Environmental, education, cultural arts and outreach programs from our Community Foundation have long been some of the hidden treasures to life here at The Reserve at Lake Keowee. At 7pm on Friday, May 11, The Reserve Community Foundation takes center stage when it welcomes Blues legend Mac Arnold and his band Plate Full O’Blues for a free outdoor concert.
James Brown played piano in Mac’s first band, and at age 24 Mac joined the Muddy Waters Band which launched his career in music. He went on to perform with the likes of Eric Clapton, Howlin’ Wolfe, Otis Redding, Bill Withers, and B.B. King. While living in Los Angeles Mac also played on the TV sets of Soul Train and Sanford & Son.
The 2012 Blues Music Awards will be announced on May 10th—the night before his concert at The Reserve. Mac is nominated for the “Traditional Blues Male Artist” category.
