UNDER CONSTRUCTION: The Reserve at Lake Keowee Guest House Cottages

The Reserve’s Village is always buzzing with activity, and now, with construction on the new Guest House Cottages moving full-steam ahead, it is buzzing with the sounds of progress…

On January 21st, The Reserve at Lake Keowee celebrated the groundbreaking of the Guest House Cottages neighborhood—a new collection of retreat homes located in the heart of the community.  Since then, the collection of cozy cottages has begun to come to life and take its place among the stately pine trees that border The Reserve’s Guest House—a six suite, custom-built bed and breakfast style inn to accommodate non-resident Members, their guests, and prospective buyers during their stays.  Designed by Mill Creek, each cottage features a post and beam construction, an open floor plan with vaulted ceilings, and an abundance of natural materials and natural light, giving them a much larger feel than their average 1,860 heated square feet.

The Reserve’s first Builder Showcase Home: Final selections are set and Interior/Exterior finishes are going up!

The Reserve at Lake Keowee Lake Home in Lake Keowee, SC

The first of several homes chosen from The Reserve Builder Showcase plans is well underway!

Since its inception in 2009, several families have put their confidence in The Reserve’s Builder Showcase Program to build their dream home on Lake Keowee. The ease of choosing from 25 pre-approved designs and confidence in the experience of our 9 Showcase builders is appealing to busy families who are wary of the commitment to build a home.

As the first Reserve owners to select a plan from the Builder Showcase Program, we are following the progress of Janet and Len Nardone’s Lake Keowee home right here on the official Reserve Blog!  Ridgeline Construction Group, began construction last April and anticipates a move-in date of early Spring 2011.

Progress Report:
Ray Foral, of Ridgeline Construction Group, reports that framing is complete and his crews are currently working on stone veneer and prepping for stucco on the exterior of the home.  On the inside, they are hanging drywall and getting ready to start on the interior finishes (paint, trim, tile, cabinets, etc.).

The Nardones visited the lake in October for their electrical walk through where they addressed locations of all lights, switches, audio-visual needs, etc.  In December, when they came for The Reserve Christmas Party, they did a thorough review of all interior finish selections and tied up loose ends.  The Nardones have officially completed all decisions regarding the construction of their home, allowing them to sit-back and enjoy watching their home come together!

Janet and Len Nardone in The Reserve at Lake Keowee Village.Janet and Len live in Maryland, but make time to enjoy The Reserve as often as they can since they became members in 2006.   Their decision to build a part-time residence—which they hope to eventually make their family’s permanent home—was influenced by the simplicity of the Builder Showcase Program.  “The builder program was a good choice for us since we will be building our home from long-distance.  The design phase was easier for us because we had something to start with, but could customize the home to make it our own,” says Len.

Video: Chicago-area families have their eye on Lake Keowee, Southeast for Retirement

SCHAUMBURG, IL – The NFL Chicago Bears won their home playoff game today, taking one step closer towards a visit south for the 2011 Super Bowl in Texas. More than 600 Chicago-area families also had their eye on southern destinations this weekend, attending the LiveSouth real estate show at the Hyatt Regency Woodfield to learn about great places to retire like The Reserve at Lake Keowee. There were smiles all around when these families learned about The Reserve’s new multi-generational Legacy Membership, extending club privileges to the entire family from parents and children to grandparents and grandchildren…at no additional cost!

Honoring the Family Experience: The Reserve introduces the multi-generational Legacy Membership

Three Generations of the Hudson Family Celebrate the Legacy Membership!

New multi-generation membership benefits honor the importance of family experiences
With a focus on the family, The Reserve at Lake Keowee has introduced its Legacy Membership, an incredible expansion of benefits to the community’s Full and Premier Members. The Reserve’s Legacy Membership now allows Members to extend their membership privileges beyond their spouses and minor children to include their parents, adult children, and grandchildren. Existing members need only complete a Family Registration Form to activate their Legacy benefits.

“We have always been a very family-oriented community and have tried hard to cater to the desires of members and to carry out our promise and vision as a place to create family legacies,” explains Chuck Pigg, VP of Greenwood Communities and Resorts and Community Manager of The Reserve. “Upon reflecting on our 10th Anniversary year, we recognized once again how important it is to our members to share The Reserve with their families. We felt that one of the best things that we could do to enhance the membership value for our existing and future members and further our commitment to family was to offer membership privileges to the parents, grandparents, children and grandchildren of the member. What better way to say we are committed to family.”
