Crowds gathered at Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport (GSP) on Saturday to welcome Southwest Airlines to the Upstate. Commercial service began Sunday including seven daily non-stop flights to/from Washington/Baltimore, Chicago, Houston, Orlando and Nashville.

(And that’s barely skimming the surface.) Located just two hours from Atlanta and Charlotte, this is one cool city, with forward-thinking leaders and a clear-cut plan that has transformed downtown into the destination it is today.
