Lake Season is in full swing and Keowee is alive with boaters, swimmers, kayakers, skiers, and now paddle boarders

A cross between kayaking and surfing—Paddle Boarding is a common water sport on the West Coast and is quickly beginning to catch on in the East.  In fact, Paddle Boarders were spotted making a splash on Lake Keowee as part of The Reserve at Lake Keowee’s Fitness ActivitiesWhat a great way to celebrate the First Day of Summer!

Be sure your boat is in tip-top shape as Boating Season begins on Lake Keowee

Setting sail on beautiful Lake Keowee from The Reserve Marina. It’s always a great idea to have your boat “summer-ized” by a certified mechanic. With a thorough inspection, they are able to tell if something is out of sync and correct any potential problems before you head out for a weekend on the lake.

Hopefully your boat was winterized and fuel stabilizer was used to keep the fuel from turning bad during the winter months.  Charging the battery is always a good idea to ensure that it hasn’t lost any power due to inactivity in the cooler months. However, the most important thing to check before your boat hits the water this spring is the drain plug! Make sure the plug or plugs are in place and snug before launching.

Plus, as boating season begins, it’s always a great idea to inventory life jackets, the throw floatation device, fire extinguisher, and verify that you registration is current.  Be safe and have a great summer of boating on Lake Keowee!

Reserve Member Spotlight: Lake Keowee golfers are hitting some great shots!

The Reserve at Lake Keowee Jack Nicklaus Golf Course

It looks like Reserve residents are hitting the practice facility to keep their game in peak condition! The Reserve at Lake Keowee’s Jack Nicklaus golf course is a fun challenge for golfers of all levels, and activity is beginning to pick up with the warmer spring air.

Jack Flanagan hit a fairway four metal wood in the hole from 172 yards for an eagle three on hole # 2. Congratulations, Jack!

Everett Kliphouse hit a drive and nearly missed his second shot completely, but hit his third into the hole for an incredible birdie three, “the hard way’ at hole # 10. Never give up, right Everett?  Great job!

530 Chicago-area families take one step closer to moving Southeast

The Reserve at Lake Keowee Real Estate Executives show off Lake Keowee in Upstate, SC at the LiveSouth Show in Chicago.

Brrrrrrrr, it was chilly in Chicago, Illinois where The Reserve at Lake Keowee exhibited at the LiveSouth Real Estate Show this weekend!  Luckily we were indoors most of the time, greeting 530 families from four different states to learn about retirement and second-home amenity communities in the southeast.

Sharing the beauty of The Reserve with new people is always exciting, but it was especially fun to see our Chicago guests’ eyes light up at the thought of enjoying Lake Keowee and Jack Nicklaus golf year-round!

Washington DC Real Estate Show attracts 600 families

I’m writing from the LiveSouth Real Estate Show in snow-covered Washington DC where The Reserve at Lake Keowee exhibited this weekend (Jan 8-10) to more than 600 families who came to learn about retirement and second-home amenity communities. Fifty-two communities participated from across the southeast. While attending the show, many of the attendees took advantage of the face-to-face opportunity to go ahead and schedule spring discovery visits to The Reserve at Lake Keowee.
